Castle Library Hrádek u Nechanic

The present work focuses on the library in the state castle Hrádek u Nechanic, which was owned by the noble family of Harrach since its foundation until 1945. The introductory chapters describe the history of the Harrach family, with particular emphasis on the owners of the library, the history of the building and the book collection itself. Subsequently, the fund is characterized according to its chronological and language structure. The main body of the thesis deals with a thematic analysis and a provenance survey of Hrádek's library. This includes a description of the different types of bookplates and signatures of the owners of individual books, with a special focus on Jan Nepomuk of Harrach, who signed the largest number of books in Hrádek. Printed and handwritten dedications present in the fund are characterized as well. In conclusion all further notes in Hrádek's volumes of significance to the history of the individual books are described. In this work it is shown that the majority of the fund does not consist of books written in Czech, as it was claimed in some of older works dealing with this library, it is predominated by books written in German. The Castle Library of Mladá Vožice

(in English): The aim of this dissertation is arranging of the library fund of zámecká knihovna Mladá Vožice. The main purpose of this paper is to define this fund with respect to the provenience and its content. Contemporary conditions of the library are outlined in the Introduction. In the following chapters the history of the castle as well as the history of the noble families involved in establishing of this collection is being described. The main emphasis lays on the family of the collections founders -the family of Küenburg. Fourth chapter describes history of the library on the basis of provenance research. In accordance with this is the identification of the books owners from Küenberg, Spiegefeld and Schönfeld family. In the same manner different families and persons with no direct lineage to Küenbergs are characterized. At the same time this part of the work engages the characteristics of the fund in respect to particular members and partially also including the content characteristics, which are being elaborated properly by means of thematic groups in the following chapter. The information about arrangement of the fund are mentioned on the basis of the archive material and sources. Conclusion is made as a summary of the work, including the overview of its aims and achieved results.
Admission of Miguel de Cervantes in Czech castle libraries in the term from the 17th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

The content of this bachelor thesis is the work of Miguel de Cervantes and its acceptance in Czech castle libraries. Included is also the author's biography as well as brief description of his books that were the most well known in Czech lands. The last part describes mainly individial prints and their possible modifications in translation. The places we can find the author's work in larger quantities are castle libraries in Hradec nad Moravicí, Klášter nad Ohří, Strážnice or Michovo Hradiště. The thesis also includes cultural context. The bachelor thesis is focused on a development of libraries and librarianship. Specifically, on the historical development in the Czech lands. The first part briefly describes the development of libraries and librarianship in historical periods. The second part mentions important individuals in the field of librarianship and the development of librarianship as a profession. The third part focuses on specific types of libraries and historically significant libraries. Based on selected sources, there are mentioned palace libraries, burgher libraries or monastery libraries and their peculiarities.

The Castle Library Sychrov - History and Structure

in English: The topic of this Diploma Thesis is the Sychrov Castle Library, which belonged to the Rohan noble clan. The aim of this Thesis was to evaluate the proveniencial, thematic, linguistic and quantitative representation of individual titles. The introduction presents the aim of the work and its structure. The subsequent chapters focus briefly on the history of the Sychrov Castle and the history of the Rohans, mainly the Rohan-Guémené line, since the members of the clan who settled at the Sychrov Castle came from that line. Details are given about the representatives of the nobility clan who had substantial influence on the appearance and composition of the castle library. The fourth chapter is devoted to the Sychrov Castle Library itself and familiarises readers with catalogues, book quantities, document issue dates, information about the oldest and newest titles, the language composition of the library's collection and preserved exlibris, supralibros and ownership inscriptions. The most extensive chapter, the fifth one, focuses on the content characteristics of the Sychrov Castle Library's collection. Provenance and content characteristics of the Library collection in castle Biskupice

(anglicky) This bachelor's thesis processes the library collection in Castle Biskupice. The aim of this thesis consists in the provenance and content characteristics of the library collection in Castle Biskupice. The introduction describes the present situation of the library. The second chapter deals with the library's history. The third chapter outlines the gradual creation of the library and the history of the families that had built it. In the Chapter ˝Provenance characteristics of the collection, an identification of books owners from the family lines of Schaffgotsch, Pálffy, Thurn-Taxis, de Linge and their genealogical relations is provided. Furthermore, this chapter characterizes the collections of particular family members. Partially, it also extends to the collection content characteristics that are provided in general in the follow-up chapter. It divides the collection into particular genres and describes interesting books and authors whose works are to be found in the castle library. The conclusion contains the thesis summary, achieved results and outcomes.
